.POST: soon within reach!

People talk about it since 2004… Would .POST soon be available? According to an ICANN press release given on December, 9th it seems like it would!
After 5 long years of waiting, the postal extension has been officially assigned to the Universal Postal Union (UPU) last December. If everything works as planned, it should be possible very shortly to register domain names with .POST.
However, the registration will not be accessible to everybody but only to the post-offices’ workers and only under specific conditions which haven’t been mentioned yet.
.POST will be a wonderful step ahead for the Internet world. Because of this extension, the different postal services will be easier to reach for users worldwide (very useful when someone travels, for instance) and simply faster (no more queue at the counter!).
As a summary, this extension will be very useful in a time when international exchanges of all kinds are increasing…
