The Tunisian Agency of Internet (A.T.I) launched on March, 16th 2009 the liberalization process of its .TN extension. According to the latest news, the Register had announced July, 14th 2010 as the last day for the “Sunrise” period. On July 15th, 2010, the A.T.I official website was referring to the “total and effective” (Go Live) opening of .TN!
To register a .TN, the rules are simple. The extension is open to:
- Any individual having the Tunisian nationality or with a home address in Tunisia.
- Any legal representative or holder of an international brand registered in Tunisia.
In both cases, it is important to precise two things:
- It is compulsory to have a local administrative contact.
- .TN domain names will be given according to the “first come, first served” rule.
By liberalizing its national extension, the Tunisian register hopes to improve the service he offers to its users, in terms of prices as well as in terms of quality. He counts on a perfect promotion of its extension to oust the other Tunisian registration offices.
