Listed companies forget to register stock symbol domain

With Facebook's IPO last week, it is interesting to have a look at a peculiar phenomenon. All companies that are listed have a stock symbol. Microsoft Corp. for example is MSFT, Intel Corp is INTC, Cisco Systems Inc. is SCSO. And Facebook is of course FB.
But contrary to Facebook, which acquired the FB.com domain name last year, numerous international, publicly traded companies have failed to register their stock symbol as a .com domain name.
A small study of several large companies that are part of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, has taught us that not even all the great ones have done their homework, and ensured that they can be found by their stock symbol. Good points for: Bank of America Corp. (BAC), General Electric Co. (GE), Intel Corp. (INTC), Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM). Failed: Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) (!), Pfizer Inc. (PFE), Walt Disney Co. (DIS).
Remarkable here is that even some companies that had registered their symbol, failed to let it refer to their "ordinary" domain name...
But what about Belgian listed companies? We did the test with some big names, including form the tech world, and the results are disappointing.
Lotus Bakeries nv, symbol COR: no (belongs to another company)
EVS Broadcast Equipment sa, symbol EVS: no (is for sale)
SIPEF SA, symbol SIP: no (belongs to another company)
Van de Velde SA, symbol VAN: no (belongs to another company -Symantec)
Etablissements FR. Colruyt SA, symbol COLR: no (is for sale)
Think-Media NV, symbol DEB: no (is for sale)
Spector Photo Group SA, symbol SPE: no (belongs to Sony Pictures)
Deceuninck SA, symbol DECB: no (is for sale)
Emakina SA, symbol ALEMK: no (could not connect, but according to WHOIS the domain is still for sale)
Keyware Technologies nv, symbol KEYW: no (belongs to another company).
None of the companies we looked at, had a .com domain with their stock symbol - although in some cases the name was available! Hopefully these companies take action immediately!
