Serbia: launch of .cрб

The Serbian registry RNIDS (Register of National Internet Domain Names of Serbia) has picked St-Sava's day, which is the day of the most popular saint of the country, to launch its new extension, .cрб. So since January 27, Internet users can register a domain name under this equivalent of .RS in cyrillic characters.
Two phases are scheduled for registrations:
- from January 27 to July 27, 2012: during these six months priority is given to holders of a .RS domain name, who can ask for its equivalent in .cрб. or in the following sub-extensions : .пр.cрб (.CO.RS), .орг.cрб (.ORG.RS), .обр.cрб (.EDU.RS) and .од.cрб (.IN.RS). It will be possible to register one equivalent per domain name and only for a period of one year. Those who have just acquired a .RS during .cрб's opening phase can also obtain the equivalent of their domain in Cyrillic version.
- July 27, 2012: General Availability .cрб domain names will be available to all according to the "first arrived, first come" basis.
Only individuals with an administrative contact in Serbia can apply for a .RS or .cрб domain name.
