Since the launch of the .CAT, the interest for cultural extensions keeps growing. The principle of an extension dedicated to a urban community is a real success. While the .LAC project has been launched by the Registry of the .MX (Mexico), discussions have started for an extension dedicated to Scotland: the .SCO.
In belgium, a country rich of cultural diversity with its 3 regions, 3 communities and 3 languages, it would make sense to submit a project that contains the creation of 3 new cultural extensions.
The .VL project for Flanders has already been started, but is likely to be refused because the convention of cultural extensions obliges to have three characters behind the point. So the .VL is not conform the rules. The .VLA would be a valid possibility. And continuing this way of thinking, we could propose the .WAL (for Wallonia) and the .BXL (for Brussels). And let's not forget the extension for the German community!
This will open new perspectives for the market of domain names in Belgium!
