About 860,000 .be domain names were registered by the end of 2008. Today, more than 901.520 .be domain names exist, which is a net growth of more than 16,7%.
According to DNS.be, the .be registry : « Passing the 900,000 .be domain names milestone clearly proves that the financial and economical crisis does not withhold the Belgians from registering their domain names. From all the holders of a .be website 70% is effectively situated in Belgium. Meaning that hundreds of thousands of Belgians are clearly familiar with the .be domain name ».
