A. What is a subdomain?

A subdomain is the part of the internet address of a website that proceed the domain name.

Example of domain name: mydomainname.be

Example of subdomain: subdomain1.mydomainname.be

Example of subdomain: subdomain2.mydomainname.be


B. Description

Subdomains are very handy to separate different entities, each with a seperate address.


C. How can I create a subdomain?

- Go to your Domain Manager

- Click on 'Configuration' in the section "Nameservers - Sub domeinen"

- Click on 'New' in the section 'subdomains'

- Enter the subdomain

- Enter the URL address, IP address of C-Name

- Tick 'Redirect in frame' if you want the original URL address to be visible (URL cloacking, URL framing)

- Click on 'change'

The numberof subdomains is unlimited


D. How can I remove subdomains?

- Go to your Domain Manager

- Click on 'Configuration' in the section "Nameservers - Sub domeinen"

- Click on 'Remove'in the section 'subdomains'

- Confirm again bij clicking on 'Remove'
