What is cybersquatting?
Sometimes looking up the availability of a domain in a search engine is enough for an agent or a person to register that domain with the purpose of making money.
Cybersquatting is deliberately breaking the law concerning brands and domain names linked to a company or one of the trademarks. Their purpose is to benefit from the traffic that is generated. Cybersquatting can happen before registration (when the company didn't register the domain name itself) or after registration (when the company forgot to renewal the domain name).
According to legal terms, cybersquatting is a part of intellectual property and company law (dishonest competition and parasitism).
