In order to protect the trademark rights, dotasia (the .asia registry) organizes several sunrise periods. If several applications are received for the same name, the Registry will organize an auction.
Sunrise period will happen like this:
1. Sunrise 2a: From the 9th October 2007 to 30th October 2007: Registration only available for companies with nominative Trademarks applied before the 14th March 2004 (exact name).
2. Sunrise 2b: From the 13th November 2007 to 15th January 2008: Registration only available for companies with nominative Trademarks registered before the 6th December 2006 (exact name).
3. Sunrise 2c: From the 13th November 2007 to 15th January 2008: Registration only available for companies with Trademarks registered associated with words included in the Trademark NICE classes (title of the class).
4. Sunrise 3: From the 13th November 2007 to 15th January 2008: Registration only available for companies with local presence (exact company name).
5. Landrush: From February 2008: System of auction will still be applied.
6. Open Registration ‘Go Live’: From March 2008: .asia available for anyone who respects the registration conditions on a ‘First come, first served’ basis.
