  • Serbia: launch of .cрб (02/02/2012)

    The Serbian registry RNIDS (Register of National Internet Domain Names of Serbia) has picked St-Sava's day, which is the day of the most popular saint of the country, to launch its new extension, .cрб. So since January 27, Internet users can register a domain name under this equivalent of .RS in cyrillic characters.

  • .JP.NET : the alternative for .JP (26/01/2012)

    On January 16th, the registry CentralNic launched a new sub-extension: .JP.NET. This extension gives any entity without a local address in the country the possibility to be on the Japanese market. This is not possible with a .JP as a local address is compulsory to register such a domain name.

  • Verisign increases .COM and .NET prices (19/01/2012)

    Verisign, the registry of the two popular extensions, had announced a while ago that they would soon raise their prices for .com and .net domain names. As a matter of fact, since January 15, 2012, the price of a .com domain names increased at Verisign...but not at Register.be. The registry justifies this change by the need to protect himself from the "increasingly powerful distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks ".



  • The extension's revolution (12/01/2012)

    In a few hours, the ICANN will launch its new top-level extensions program. Companies, trademarks or any other entities interested will be able to register a domain name directly under a gTLD with its own name, and in any language (XXX.POKER, XXX.CANON, XXX.UNICEF).

  • Belarus restricts access to foreign websites (05/01/2012)

    A new Belorussian law which restricts access to foreign websites for citizens and residents of the former Soviet state has been published on December 21.

  • Vatican.XXX : who is behind it ? (29/12/2011)

    It was essential for many companies, associations, universities (and many others !) to keep their brand porn-free by acquiring .XXX domain names .For example, the University of Illinois in the United States registered IllinoisState.XXX, RedBirds.XXX and StateYourPassion.XXX domain names or Disney, Coca Cola, Google, The Louvre Museum in Paris etc. Is it also what the Vatican aimed to do recently with the Vatican.XXX ?

  • Reserve your .CO.UK domain for 10 years! (16/12/2011)

    Until now, the legal registration or renewal period for a .CO.UK domain name was 2 years. But Nominet, the Registry of the English extension, has decided to change this. As of May 1, 2012 it will be possible to register a .CO.UK domain name for 1 to 10 years, according to your own preference!

  • .FR, .WF, .RE, .YT, .PM, and .TF open to Europe (08/12/2011)

    We informed you in September that .WF (Wallis and Futuna), .RE (Island of Réunion), .YT (Mayotte Island), .PM (Saint-Pierre and Miquelon) and .TF (French Southern Islands) would become available by the end of the year, according to the law of March 22, 2011.
